Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga Classes in Windsor, UK
The practice of yoga provides many physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. Often students come to the mat in search of a healthier, happier body. Some come in search of relief from the stresses of modern life. Yoga provides both stress relief and an increase in physical flexibility and strength. However, many students continue to practice as the other rewards of yoga begin to manifest in different aspects of life. It is my great honour to share this practice with my students.
My teaching is inspired by the ongoing process and journey of my own daily ashtanga practice. My commitment is to hold a practice space for each student in as personalised a way as possible. As a result, each student discovers the work of the practice in their own way. For this reason, I offer small group (5-6 students maximum) or private classes in my own studio, or in your home. Classes are booked by the term or in blocks. It is also possible to drop in from time-to-time. Schedules change by the term, so please contact me for the latest schedule.

Level 1, Level 1-2, Level 2
Based on the Ashtanga Primary series, these classes are physically strong but very meditative. Classes are led and students will build a solid foundation in this practice with emphasis on the first half of the Primary series.
Level 1 classes start with an introduction to the sun salutations and standing postures. Postures are added gradually as the sequence becomes more familiar. Classes progress into the second half of Primary once proficient in the first half.
Teaching emphasis is on breath based movement, postural alignment and technique. Though strong, this class becomes a moving meditation.
Ashtanga Self-Practice Mysore
Ashtanga yoga is traditionally taught in the self-practice 'Mysore' style (thus named for the city in Southern India where Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, lived and taught.)
This is, in essence, a private 1:1 session within a group setting. In the beginning, Denise provides guidance on the Primary sequence. As students memorise the series, they move through the practice at their own pace in a steady and calm way. Denise is present to offer guidance, adjustments and support as needed. Postures are added slowly when the student is ready.
This makes for a deeply meditative & energetically strong experience and allows the student to practice according to his/her needs that day.
Yoga - Meditation
This Hatha yoga class focuses on stretching, strengthening and mobilising the body while building core stability. Each class includes breath or meditation techniques and a guided relaxation. The energy of this practice is grounding and calm. Great for beginners and experienced yogis alike.
