Day & Evening Classes

The practice of yoga offers a host of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. Many students come to the mat in search of a healthier, happier body. Most continue for reasons beyond this as the rewards of practice manifest in different aspects of life. 

It is my profound honour to share this practice with my students. My teaching comes from the ongoing process and internal journey of my own daily ashtanga practice. My commitment is to hold the practice space for each student in as personalised a way as possible. As a result, each student discovers the work of the practice in their own way. 

For this reason, I offer small group (5-6 students maximum) or private classes in my own private studio or in your home. Classes are booked by the term or in blocks. It is also possible to drop in from time-to-time. Schedules change by the term, so please contact me for the latest information.

Level 1, Level 1-2, Level 2

Based on the Ashtanga Primary series, these classes are physically strong but very meditative. Classes are led and students will build a solid foundation in this practice with emphasis on the first half of the Primary series.

Level 1 classes start with an introduction to the sun salutations and standing postures. Postures are added gradually as the sequence becomes more familiar and the class more proficient. Emphasis is on breath based movement, postural alignment and technique. Though strong, this class becomes a moving meditation. 

Ashtanga Mysore

All Levels

Ashtanga yoga is traditionally taught in the 'Mysore' style (thus named for the city in Southern India where Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, lived and taught.) 

This is, in essence, a supervised self-practice class. Asana postures are taught slowly. As students memorise the Primary series sequence, they practice on their own in a much more empowered, steady and calm way. The teacher is present to offer guidance, adjustments and support as needed. This makes for a deeply meditative & energetically strong experience and allows the student to practice according to his/her needs that day. Some students feel this class is akin to having a 1:1 class in a group setting. 

Yoga - Meditation

Level 1-2

This Hatha yoga class focuses on stretching, strengthening and mobilising the body while building core stability. Each class includes breath or meditation techniques and a guided relaxation. The energy of this practice is grounding and calm. Great for beginners and experienced yogis alike.
